Web accessibility training

Learn to create websites and content that meet accessibility guidelines as well as legislation and public policy requirements.

Benefits

  • Essential skills for webmasters, developers, administrators and project managers;
  • Taught by Ireland's leading experts in Web accessibility;
  • Learn all the skills and techniques required to make sure a website is accessible to the widest audience, including older people and people with disabilities;
  • Covers WCAG 2.0 requirements and new technologies such as AJAX, Flash, video, etc.

CFIT runs premium quality two-day training courses in web accessibility for webmasters, developers and project managers.

Because CFIT is Ireland's leading independent centre of expertise in Web accessibility, you can be sure you are getting the best possible training. Course content is comprehensive, covering both basic accessibility principles and advanced techniques for accessible Flash, AJAX, PDFs, online video, etc.

Our courses take place at a high quality venue in central Dublin. Restaurant lunch on both days and refreshments throughout are included.

Relevant to your needs

The training covers everything you need to know in order to make sure your websites meet the requirements of the WAI WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines as well as Irish legislation and public policy. In addition, you will learn about how to maximise ease of use for older people and people with disabilities.

Courses will be tailored to the specific needs of your organisation, with examples and exercises focussed on your own websites. The small class sizes will ensure you get individual attention and hands-on experience with assistive technologies such as screen reader and screen magnifier software. Depending on your specific needs, we can cover specific topics in more depth, e.g. assistive technologies, authoring and evaluation tools, AJAX, Flash and PDF.

Participants must have a basic understanding of creating websites using HTML/CSS. No prior web accessibility knowledge is required.

Effective

By the end of the training you will have a thorough understanding of the needs of older and disabled users and will be able to create designs and content that meet their needs without compromising on functionality or aesthetics. You will be in a position to immediately begin implementing this new knowledge to improve your own websites.

Costs and registration

Attendance on our two-day public course costs €1,800 for one person with a 20% discount for a second or third person. Targeted training courses for four or more participants from the same organization can be arranged at a lower cost per individual. As NCBI is a registered charity, we do not charge VAT, so these are the full prices.
