EC Mandate M376

Mark Magennis of CFIT is involved as a representative of ANEC in the European Mandate M/376 work on supporting accessibility requirements in the public procurement of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

M/376 is a mandate from the European Commission to the three European standards organisations, CEN, CENELEC and ETSI, giving them the task of creating a set of standards and guidance materials. These standards and guidance will support the inclusion of accessibility requirements within public procurements by defining European standards for ICT accessibility and creating an online public procurement toolkit.

Phase 1 of the work identified accessibility requirements and suitable testing and conformity schemes. Phase 2 involves the creation of the European standard and the online toolkit.
