How well do your services and consumer equipment measure up for accessibility? CFIT can help you answer that question by explaining exactly where they fail to meet Universal Design guidelines and what you can do about it. We audit against accepted best practice guidelines from the BCI, the UK Consumer Expert Group, Digital Europe and others.
So if you want to know exactly how your accessible your services and equipment are, why not book an audit today.
What do you get?

CFIT’s expert auditors will thoroughly assess your services and equipment against the best practice guidelines and identify any issues that are likely to cause difficulties for older people or people with disabilities.
The findings will be presented to your project team by a senior CFIT consultant at a half day workshop. The emphasis is on showing you not only where accessibility can be improved, but what kind of problems are likely to arise for users and what steps you can take to avoid them. This will help you to build an understanding of what the best practice guidelines mean in practice and how best to prioritise your efforts.
In addition to the presentation, we will deliver a technical report containing a prioritised list of all the audit findings and recommendations, with an executive overview.
What happens next?
The audit will reveal where your services and equipment fall short of accessibility and what modifications are required. It will also give you a better understanding of accessibility requirements and how non-conformance can affect users. You may decide to combine the audit with user testing or field trials, to give you a more complete picture of the consumer experience.
CFIT can continue to assist you as you work on implementing the suggested improvements, by providing flexible consultancy, support, mentoring or 'help desk' facilities according to your needs. This will help you to quickly grow your own in-house expertise in accessibility.
What does it cost?
Costs are dependent on the complexity of what is being assessed. A full audit for a single piece of equipment, including reporting and presentation of findings, make cost as little as €1,200. As NCBI is a registered charity, we do not charge VAT, so this would be the final price.
