ComReg forum

Mark Magennis of CFIT sits on the ComReg Forum on Communications Services for People with Disabilities as a representative of the Disability Federation of Ireland. The Forum involves representatives from all the major communications service providers – eircom, Vodafone, O2, BT Ireland, Meteor and 3 Ireland. Topics under discussion have included accessible consumer equipment, accessible formats for billing and other information, directory assistance for people with print disabilities, access to emergency services and various customer service issues that crop up from time to time. The Forum has developed a Guide to telephone equipment and services for people with disabilities and has helped define the requirements for a disability related questionnaire to be included within the Comreg annual user needs survey.
